Empanadas are the perfect finger food that also work as a meal. Delicious, versatile, healthy, and never boring. They have long been a staple in Latin America, and now ¡Venga! brings them to San Francisco. We are located at La Victoria, the Mission's oldest bakery, on 24th Street @ Alabama in the heart of the Mission. La Victoria is open 7 days a week, from early morning until 9 p.m., and features fresh ¡Venga! Empanadas daily. Or, order online for pickup at La Victoria or for delivery during our delivery hours.
Where are empanadas from?
The empanada, meaning wrapped in bread, was introduced by the Arabs to Spain and later was brought to Latin America. Although they can still be found in Spain, where they are more commonly known as the empanadilla, it is in Latin America where they are most popular. Different countries and regions have made the empanadas their own, with different shapes, sizes, and fillings.
What's so great about ¡Venga! Empanadas?
¡Venga! Empanadas are most influenced by the Argentine style but have a San Francisco flair. For example, our pastry shell does not contain beef fat, as they commonly do in Argentina. They are baked, not fried, and are handmade from scratch, using organic, local ingredients wherever possible.
When you have a lot of people to feed...
Our empanadas are the perfect food to serve at parties, events, business lunches, kids' birthdays, or any occasion where hungry people are gathered. Easy to serve and even easier to eat! We can accommodate orders of any size.
